We meet every month on the second Thursday at the Murray Heritage Center. The meeting starts at 7:00 PM sharp and usually lasts two hours.
Food and drinks are provided. If you're on-time, you get a ticket for the monthly raffle; often, the raffle prizes are outstanding! The helpful receptionist at the front desk can point your way to our club meeting.

UTE September Club meeting
Let's see if I can remember what we talked about last night.
* The new field. With the big announcements coming from the city about how the soccer complex is going to go forward, we've heard NOTHING from the city if they are going to honor their commitment to provide a functioning R/C modelport before demolishing the old one. We know the location of the new modelport, but so far there has been no building there. The plans have been drawn, but the city will lose the money from Real Salt Lake if they don't start building very soon. We all know how politician priorities follow the money and public opinion. Since we aren't a huge financial backer like Real, let's make sure Salt Lake politicians hear how important the replacement Modelport is.
* Discussed some upcoming events, including the Utah Flyers Organization "Un-Civil War" of full-contact foam wing combat coming up soon.
* Tom went off on a bit how little volunteerism there is in the club... the same dozen people over and over again, doing all the jobs of the club. Mentioned that if he's elected for a fourth year, he's going to find some uncomfortable ways to motivate more volunteerism. Matt suggested more carrot and less stick :)
* Rick gave a great presentation on techniques for using regular old house paint to give your scale model an award-winning finish.
* Donuts!
* Show & Tell. I showed off my Zagi THL. Evan discussed his float plane. Doug showed another micro R/C RTF plane from ParkZone. Aaron publicly thanked Brian for providing an emergency ESC & motor at the night fly, and gave Brian one of his scratch-built, custom-programmed LED lighting kits as a thank-you.
I'm pretty sure I missed something in there.
