Quick Action Needed on Flying Site

From Tom:
While we may or may not fly here, someone once told me you can't have to many flying sites...There are times I just want to grab an electric and go fly without travaling out to our field. So with that in mind I sent off an e-mail to the county representive......If you agree with me, "that you can't have to many flying site" please do the same....

From Mark and Kimberly:
Kimberly and I went to a meeting tonight regarding development of the Welby Regional Park near the Daybreak Community. Last week was the first time we had heard of this project to develop this County Park, and we drove over to scope out any RC possibilities. We found there was a huge flat area in the SE corner of the property, next to the golf course. You can see it here:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=welby+park,+south+jordan,+UT&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=54.753001,114.169922&ie=UTF8&hq=Welby-bmx+Track+Park&hnear=Welby-bmx+Track+Park,+South+Jordan,+UT+84095&ll=40.569469,-112.007825&spn=0.012225,0.027874&t=h&z=16

While this was the last public input meeting, the planners who were there seemed to have some interest in developing part of the flat area for some RC needs.

BUT, Kimberly and I are only two voices. The Salt Lake County representative did offer that he would take input via email or telephone for the next few days.

So, a call to action. Call him and express that you would like a 600 x 1000 groomed grass area for electric radio control aircraft (glow noise would likely be an issue) in the SE corner of the property. His contact info is:

MSelph@slco.org
or
801-468-2674

Hopefully Tom or Mike will get the Utes going on this, too.

Thanks,

Mark

Quick Action Needed on Flying Site

I forwarded a letter to MSelph in So. Jordan expressing my interest in a flying site! Thanks for a heads up!
